Raquel Cruz

Raquel Cruz is a Barcelona-rooted, Amsterdam-based DJ who found in the underground a space to shape both her identity and her way of understanding music. Her sound moves through techno, minimal, dub and broken rhythms, with a strong focus on groove, percussion and the shape of the set. Rather than treating intensity as the main driver, she is interested in how different elements interact over time and how a session can hold the floor through variation, control and contrast. She approaches music with freedom, guided by energy, instinct, sensitivity and presence.

In her sets, rhythm sits at the centre, but never in a rigid or purely functional way. Hypnotic passages, dubby textures, stripped-back structures and melodic moments all play a role in how she builds movement across the dancefloor. Breaks and shifts in rhythm are also part of that language, not as a dramatic effect but as a way of keeping the set alive, avoiding monotony and giving space to different kinds of tension and release.
